Motivational Talks

About life, survival, and starting over

Many people approach me saying that our story is inspiring and gives them courage.

Companies see our personal journey as a remedy for their employees’ everyday challenges —
a story that pulls them out of their habitual reality and helps them put their own problems into
perspective.

Those who have been through hell and faced their deepest shadows are given the chance to accept and integrate them. Those who are stared at — or even judged — every day because they behave differently learn not to care about others’ opinions. Those who cannot calculate the future begin to feel increasingly at home in the eternal present.

I did not choose this path, but since it was given to me, I choose to make the very best of it for all of us. This is my motto. And it is possible in every life situation — it is simply a matter of decision. During my motivational trainings, participants gain insight into this winning life strategy.

There is no loss and no failure if we view every situation as an opportunity to learn.

Talks on Autism and Book Presentations

I also give awareness-raising and informative talks about autism, as well as book presentations upon request. The primary goal of these events is to increase awareness and
understanding of autism.

My name is Dóra Lohonyai. First and foremost, I am a human being. Then a mother, an autism activist, a writer, a businesswoman, and a navigator of fate.

My life changed fundamentally because of my children. Two of my three children are autistic. My son has a mild intellectual disability and Tourette syndrome. Both of them have attention deficit disorder. My third child is typically developing—but far from ordinary. I raise them on my own.

I wrote my first book about them and for them. My goal is to help as many people as possible understand and accept autism, which now affects one in every 100 people.

In the autumn of 2018, I set off for South India with my children, because a local guru promised he could help us—not by curing the incurable, but by changing our karma.
